There is no significant advantage to be gained. All lossless file compressions were done in the 70's and 80's. Just because you are 10 years old doesn't mean that anything older is obsolete. There's nothing unsafe about the rar-format. Safer, better compression formats to choose from! rar 'utilities' are chock full of spyware. I got sent to so many dodgy popup clickbait webpages. Searching for a rar utility to download and install so I could open ONE file, Last time I tried, the download links were both broken. Who uses rar compression these days? The official Amber pack can't be used in 2.1 and 2.2 as most sounds don't follow the modern OpenTX guidelines anymore The one that almost everyone is using with a modern OpenTX comes from me as it does not need any work. There's only 1 "official pack" and that's the one from TheKM and it was last updated in 2014. It contains a complete set and is therefore better than the one offered from the OpenTX site. Less than a week ago I added a "sensor not ready" sound.Ī year ago I decided to publish an updated 2.1 set that can be used as a drop-in replacement. OpenTX university chose to make it available through a link to a website I own. I proposed to just add the complete pack to the OpenTX distro, but they chose to make it available as a downloadable zip.
The only thing that was needed was a reorganization of the SYSTEM folder, because OpenTX changed. I did that pack when 2.1 was not released yet and the original Amber pack was a regular download.
